SHIFTING TIME returns in 2026\, reimagined with fresh depth and perspective. \nSHIFTING TIME offers new perspectives on dance through the incorporation of post-modern and Japanese butoh influences\, creating striking theatrical images that awaken memories and pose questions for our future.

(Free public performance) \n\nJoining the dancers are featured musicians:  Lance Garger (percussion)\, Harvey Lockhart (saxophone)\, Rick Kramer (percussion)\, Sky Kingsland (percussion)\, Kalo Hoyle (bass)\, and Tory Starbuck (electronics)\n\n  \nInTRANSIT will coordinate with First Fridays in the Grand Center Arts District. DESCRIPTION:Now in its 18th year\, DINE ON DANCE continues to serve dance performances with live music over this hour-long\nlunchtime break. The Dine on Dance Lunchtime Performances features a community of professional contemporary and\nsite-specific dance and live music in outdoor venues. \nFeatured in this year’s DINE ON DANCE are dance works by Alice Bloch and Dancers presenting historical dance\nrepertoire of Isadora Duncan\, exciting tap dance by STL Rhythm Collective/moSTLy Tap\, Ashleyliane Dance Company\,\ncontemporary and site-specific work by local choreographers Tayler Kinner and Dawn Karlovsky\, and a new work by\nCalifornia-based guest choreographer\, Doris Ressl of Freshwater Dance Collective\, creating a new work for Karlovsky &\nCompany Dance. See the dance students from Grand Center Arts Academy perform at the Strauss Park location on\nSeptember 17. \nSince 2004\, Dine on Dance has been bringing dance performances with live music to the St. Louis community with\ncontemporary and original dance created for specific outdoor locations. Each choreographer contributes to the\nuniqueness of the program developing original work and exploring inventive ways to utilize the outdoor spaces.\nDINE ON DANCE is FREE and family friendly. DESCRIPTION:InTRANSIT is a walk\, bike\, drive-by migratory\, outdoor performance taking place in various locations of the Grand Center Arts District in St. Louis.  In an effort to work together as a creative community\, 20+ dancers and a handful of musicians offer viewers an opportunity to experience these beautiful art forms in real time and socially distant space. \nOn Sept. 4 from 6:00-6:30pm\, five groups of dancers and musicians will perform simultaneously at five different locations within the Grand Center area.  Viewers can watch the performances at the Grand Center Arts Academy Plaza\, The Sheldon (on the steps and plaza)\, and Park-Like (across from the Pulitzer Arts Foundation).  \nViewers are welcome to walk\, bike\, or drive to one of the other listed locations between 6-6:30pm to see different groups of performers in different spaces.  To conclude the program\, the dancers and musicians will travel from their on-site locations to Strauss Park for the final ensemble performance between 6:45-7pm.  InTRANSIT is a free public performance.   To prevent social gatherings of large groups\, no seating will be provided. \nPresented by Karlovsky & Company Dance.
