DESCRIPTION:Music at the Intersection returns for its third year with a diverse\, genre-bending and decades-spanning artist lineup\, as well as a special celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. During the weekend\, more than 50 national\, regional and local artists are scheduled to perform across four stages throughout Grand Center Arts District’s outdoor festival footprint – a mix of urban streets and green spaces\, stretching across Washington Avenue\, just east of Grand Blvd. Festival grounds open at 12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday\, September 9-10\, and performances will take place within that outdoor footprint until well after sunset. \n\nMusic at the Intersection is a civic-led effort presented by Kranzberg Arts Foundation in partnership with Steward Family Foundation and The Regional Arts Commission (RAC) of St. Louis. First held in 2021\, the festival tells the story of St. Louis’ musical\, cultural and artistic heritage. It celebrates the city’s imprint on the American songbook\, the relationship St. Louis has with its Mississippi River sister cities\, and the musical genres that have been birthed and fostered locally. DESCRIPTION:Missouri Watercolor Society 2021 International Exhibition!  \nAwards Ceremony & Reception \nSunday\, August 29 1 – 3pm \nAt the MOWS Gallery \n3529 Washington Avenue Suite #300 \nRSVP encouraged but not required. \n  \nThe Missouri Watercolor Society is one of the premier watercolor societies in the US – and there are about 100 total.  Awards this year total $13\,000.  Last year they totaled $25\,000.  International selected artists this year hail from Greece\, Malaysia and China (6).  We have just under 500 members from around the US and world. \nAs the invite states – the Reception and Awards Ceremony is this Sunday from 1 to 3 (or slightly later.  An RSVP is appreciated but not required.

Whether you are a history buff\, a foodie\, or a lover of the arts\, you’re sure to discover something sensational and unexpected! \nThe Grand Center Arts District Tour\nThe Grand Center Arts District tour\, in partnership with the Missouri Historical Society\, is led by experienced guides and features the rich concentration of cultural and arts-related landmarks radiating out from the fabled intersection of Grand and Olive. On this tour\, you will hear the history of many of St. Louis’ most iconic theatrical venues and galleries\, including The Fabulous Fox and The Sheldon; see incredible architecture including the Scottish Rite Cathedral and the Contemporary Art Museum\, and experience our vibrant culture at hotspots like The Dark Room at The Grandel and the brand new Angad Arts Hotel. \nGrand Center Arts District tours last approximately two hours and are wheelchair accessible. Tour starting/ending points are included in your booking info. At the direction of the Department of Health for the City of St. Louis\, protective face coverings are required for guests age 9 and up. Guests will also be asked to practice social distancing during the tour.
