SUMMARY:That's What She Said
DESCRIPTION:Back at The Sheldon for a fourth year\, That’s What She Said is a one–night–only performance where every day women share their every day stories. This incredible cast of St. Louis–area women — your friends and neighbors — is saying some of the hard stuff right out loud. They will make you belly laugh\, possibly ugly cry and see a little of yourself in every story. We are here to amplify women’s voices\, foster empathy\, create community and build a space where women can be vulnerable\, brave and authentic. \nPLUS\, your evening doesn’t have to end when the show does. Your ticket includes the She Said Afterparty immediately after the performance. Join us in The Sheldon’s beautiful Konneker Room to connect with the cast and celebrate the performance. AND\, a portion of show proceeds will support St. Louis-area non profit organizations who are championing women’s causes in our region.

DESCRIPTION:The Sinatra Experience — a brilliant tribute starring Dave Halston. Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of music\, laughter\, and a zesty lineup of Frank Sinatra’s most popular songs.\nThis show is authentic – not an impersonation. Performing with the original music arrangements\, Halston and his world-class band bring the Sinatra sound and swagger to the stage with a swanky Vegas vibe.\nDave’s performance is so outstanding\, he was chosen by Barbara Sinatra\, Frank’s widow\, to perform for her birthday party. She called his performance “WONDERFUL!”\nDave has performed to capacity crowds in venues nationwide. His sold-out shows have been enjoyed by tens of thousands of enthusiastic patrons offering standing ovation after standing ovation.

SUMMARY:The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:This event will still go on as planned. Thankfully\, The Sheldon was untouched by the storms on Friday. \n“In The Mood” for swing music? The most popular and sought after big band of all time returns to St Louis for an evening of swing music at the Sheldon Concert Hall! \nOn May 19\, The World-Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will perform their greatest hits\, including “In The Mood”\, “Chattanooga Choo Choo”\, “American Patrol”\, “A String Of Pearls”\, “Little Brown Jug”\, “Pennsylvania 6-5000”\, Tuxedo Junction”\, and of course their theme song “Moonlight Serenade” as they continue their national tour.\nThe 15 member orchestra\, their lead singers\, and vocal group will perform their catalog of big band classics just the way they would have over 80 years ago when Glenn Miller stood in front of his band. It is a show that continues to transport audiences back in time and is as nostalgic as it is exciting.\nTouring continuously since 1956\, The Glenn Miller Orchestra is featured in over 200 concerts and dances per year. Each performance includes the timeless classics that made them famous the world over in a show that has moved audiences for generations. \n

SUMMARY:SLSO: Live at The Sheldon: Echoes of Home
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this unique chamber music series curated and performed by SLSO musicians. Experience new and treasured repertoire masterfully brought to life on The Sheldon stage in a dynamic lineup of instruments and players.\nCurated by Celeste Golden Andrews\, Second Associate Concertmaster\, and Melissa Brooks\, Associate Principal Cello. \nMemories and traditions echo throughout this program\, revisited and revised. Shelley Washington’s dazzling string quartet evokes—in the composer’s own words—“where we gathered. Home of the heart\, heart of the home.” A radical arrangement of a G.F. Handel suite makes a new home for classical traditions. Antonín Dvořák retains his Bohemian roots while Vaughan Williams harkens back to memories of birds taking wing. A new work by award-winning Missouri teenage composer Henry Rusten invites listeners to hear echoes from a new generation. \nCeleste Golden Andrews\, violin (curator)\nMelissa Brooks\, cello (curator)\nKristin Ahlstrom\, violin\nAlejandro Valdepeñas\, viola\nDavid DeRiso\, Double Bass \nG.F. Experience new and treasured repertoire masterfully brought to life on The Sheldon stage in a dynamic lineup of instruments and players.\nCurated by Xiaoxiao Qiang\, Violin\, and Tzuying Huang\, Clarinet/Bass Clarinet. \nMusic needs no passport. Composers cross geographic barriers\, borrowing ideas from a world of musical cultures. Sergei Prokofiev visits the U.S. and encounters a Russian sextet devoted to Jewish folk music for whom he writes an exuberant new work. Contemporary American composer Paul Schoenfield is drawn to Eastern European music\, mixing themes from klezmer\, Cossack dances\, and military marches. In contrast\, Amy Beach’s Theme and Variations is a sublime example of late-Romantic grandeur. Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio espagnole contains both Russian and Spanish melodies and rhythms. \nSergei Prokofiev: Overture on Hebrew Themes \nSeda Balci: New Work (World premiere) \nPaul Schoenfield: Trio for Clarinet\, Violin\, and Piano \nAmy Beach: Theme and Variations for Flute and String Quartet \nNikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (arr. SUMMARY:Steve Treviño
DESCRIPTION:Comedian Steve Treviño is “America’s Favorite Husband.” He can “speak wife fluently\,” he never calls “the guys” for help on a home project\, and he knows better than to “make his own decisions\,” since decision-making is a privilege reserved solely for his wife\, Renae. \nHis relatable approach affirms his status as one of the country’s fastest-rising comics\, viewed over 223 million times\, selling out shows coast-to-coast\, amassing over 2 million total social media followers\, and headlining specials for Amazon\, NETFLIX\, Showtime\, and more. \nHe started cutting his teeth in Dallas\, Texas\, working as a door guy at the Improv and earning himself a spot to open the iconic 2001 Three Amigos Comedy Tour. He quickly earned his stripes and an audience on the comedy club circuit\, and he began headlining on his own by the age of 25. He delivered side-splitting performances on The Late Late Show and Comics Unleashed\, and produced and wrote for international GRAMMY® Award-winning superstar Pitbull’s La Esquina. \nHis first Showtime special\, Grandpa Joe’s Son\, staked out a spot in the Nielsen Top 20. He funded\, produced\, and shot his 2014 runaway NETFLIX hit Relatable. To promote the special\, he uploaded a clip titled “When Your Wife Comes Home From Shopping.” It exploded\, generating 56 million views on Facebook alone and paving the way for heavily shared clips such as “When You Ask Your Wife If She Wants McDonald’s” (21 million views) and “When Going to Vegas With Your\nWife Goes Wrong” (4 million views). Co-produced by Nacelle\, the follow-up special\, Steve Trevino ’Til Death\, arrived in 2018. Steve maintained his momentum by broadening his social media presence through fans redoing bits of his comedy specials and posting them to TikTok. In less than two years\, that grassroots effort helped him build a worldwide fanbase on the platform from the ground up\, amassing 4.8 million likes and over 50 million views on the platform\, while also\nchanging up his entire social media game. \nIn 2020\, he and his wife\, Renae\, unveiled a joint weekly podcast entitled “Steve Treviño and Captain Evil\,” that has generated over 1.5 million views/streams and is now in Season 3. He also filmed his fourth self-produced comedy special\, My Life in Quarantine\, which was picked up by Amazon Prime. The once-in-a-lifetime pandemic special was shot in front of a masked\, socially distant crowd and focused on the ups and downs of getting through quarantine. \nHe regularly raises money for Helicopters for Heroes\, an organization benefiting veterans\, for whom he helped raise over $1.5 million in the past two years. \nSteve’s self produced fifth special filmed in Waco\, Texas\, entitled I Speak Wife\, independently released on Friday\, October 21\, for free exclusively to his global audience on YouTube.

SUMMARY:The Sheldon Presents: Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder
DESCRIPTION:Fifteen-time GRAMMY® Award-winner Ricky Skaggs’ career is easily among the most significant in recent country  music history. If Skaggs’ burgeoning trophy case full of awards wasn’t already enough evidence of that fact\, consider that legendary guitarist Chet Atkins once credited Skaggs with “single-handedly saving country music.” His life’s path has taken him to various musical genres\, from where it all began in bluegrass music\, to striking out on new musical journeys\, while still leaving his musical roots intact. \nIn the past decade\, he has been honored with inductions into the Gospel Music Association’s Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame. In 2018\, a landmark year\, Skaggs was also awarded membership into the National Fiddler Hall of Fame\, the IBMA Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and country music’s greatest honor\, the Country Music Hall of Fame. Most recently\, he was awarded the prestigious National Medal of Arts in 2020 for his contributions to the American music industry. \nThe Sheldon is pleased to host a pre-show buffet dinner before the concert\, provided by local restaurant Salt and Smoke. Dinner buffet is $35 per person. Tickets are sold separately from the concert. Click here to purchase dinner. \nDinner includes: \n\nBrisket\nPulled  Chicken\nWhite Cheddar Cracker Mac\nMixed Green Salad\nMini Brownies\nAssorted Sauces\n\nOrders are due by January 9\, 2025 at 12 p.m. Dinner does not include a concert ticket.
