High Low, 3301 Washington Ave.

The winter blues have hit us head-on, so we know you all are feeling it to! Even though it seems hard to stay motivated, the best way to navigate the coldest time of the year is to get out there and enjoy what this city has to offer. From our neighborhood to you (and your family)–here are 10 things to this winter, right here in Grand Center Arts District.

/ Curl up with a latte or attend a poetry workshop at the hottest new spot in town, High Low.

/ Read a book and people watch over chili and grilled cheese at Stage Left Grille.

/ Fight those winter blues with COLOR at the Angad Arts Hotel – explore local art throughout the hotel or grab a cocktail and chill above the city at the rooftop bar.

/ Spend your diet “Cheat Day” at Turn and order a biscuit flight and their pancakes of the week.

/ Wear some comfy shoes and get down and dirty with CAM’s newest installation that treks you through the dirt–all in the name of art by Derek Fordjour.

/ Laugh over cocktails and FREE comedy during Thursday’s Happiest Hour Comedy Series–weekly at Sophie’s Artist Lounge & Cocktail Club.

/ Find a new favorite band during the free weekly bar hop: Wednesday Night Jazz Crawl. Finish the night with a glass of bubbly at The Dark Room.

/ Practice retail therapy and shop gift items, art, decor, and vintage at Grand Center’s newest destination, CLR-MNSTR.

/ Go see a play! This month especially, local theatre rocks with productions at The Marcelle (black box-style), The Grandel (by kid-friendly Metro Theatre Company), and even a cult classic (Freaky Friday) at the .Zack.

/ Do good with the extra time you have on your hands this winter and volunteer for a local arts organization. Try reaching out to the Arts & Education Council, whose arts incubator offers up a nice variety of opps to start with.
