Antonio Foster, a versatile pianist, bandleader, and jazz musician began his musical journey at the age of 9 under the guidance of Charles R. Asbury. Foster drew inspiration from his grandmother, who was the church pianist, and later delved into jazz piano at 13. Over the years, Foster has showcased his talents in various realms, playing for churches, jazz groups, and even producing an album. Currently, he imparts his knowledge as a piano teacher at the Youth Technology Arts Center. Foster’s passion for jazz led him to Central Visual and Performing Arts and Jazz St. Louis’ JazzU Program. Under the mentorship of East St. Louis native Reggie Thomas, Foster honed his skills, emerging as one of St. Louis’ top jazz pianists and keyboardists. Today, he stands as a leading voice among a dynamic group of young musicians shaping the future of jazz.
