The ARTS is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization providing new opportunities for careers in the trades in response to the recent shortage of skilled tradespeople. The mission of the ARTS is to foster the development of highly-qualified tradespeople by providing opportunities and support for high school students interested in prosperous and rewarding careers in the trade industry. These opportunities come primarily in the form of Trades Day events scheduled at high schools across St. Louis. These events allow interested students to meet tradespeople, learn trade skills through hands-on activities, and participate in interviews with trade company owners and managers. Outside of Trades Day events, the ARTS also provides follow-up opportunities for students to visit tradespeople on the job and learn specific skills along with scholarships to further their learning. Additionally, the ARTS acts as a liaison between students and Trades Day partners to coordinate apprenticeships and promote employment opportunities.
