Bassist, composer, arranger and producer John Clayton’s arrangement of the Star Spangled Banner helped propel Whitney Houston in her 1990 performance at the Super Bowl. He has written and/or recorded with Milt Jackson, Paul McCartney, Regina Carter, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Queen Latifah, and YoYo Ma, to name only a few.
A fiery trumpeter and singer with a sly, expressive delivery in the post-Sinatra mold, Benny Benack III has performed internationally as the emcee for Postmodern Jukebox. His global recognition has been further bolstered by live-streaming concerts at Smalls Jazz Club.
