Saxophonist, composer, and educator Kendrick Smith was born and raised in East St. Louis and studied at SIUE under pianist Reggie Thomas. Kendrick’s quintet will perform music from Spike Lee’s Mo’ Better Blues, a stylish, erotic drama about a jazz trumpeter.
