Top St. Louis musicians – including renowned soprano Christine Brewer and The 442s – are coming together to present a concert celebrating democracy and encouraging everyone to vote in the upcoming 2024 elections. The concert will benefit the League of Women Voters of Metro St. Louis, an organization that was initially formed at The Sheldon in 1919.

Concert Highlights

Featured artists include Brewer who was named one of the top 20 sopranos of all time by BBC Music, soprano Angel Love who received rave reviews for singing the role of Papagena in Mozart’s Magic Flute at Opera Theatre of St. Louis; tenor Duane Foster who appeared in Ragtime with Audra McDonald on Broadway; and The 442s, led by Adam Maness and featuring three St. Louis Symphony musicians and three top jazz musicians.

Highlights include premier of a new composition by Maness and performed by The 442s; Christine Brewer singing an aria from the opera Mother of Us All by Virgil Thomson and Gertrude Stein; Angel Love performing “Sojourner Truth” by Paul Reuter with trumpeter Mary Weber and bassist Anita Hagerman; and
