MAP St. Louis aims to redefine secondary education through a Montessori lens by cultivating an adolescent microcosm rooted within the heart of a vibrant St. Louis neighborhood. We prioritize the holistic development of each student, guiding them on their individualized journey to achieve their full potential as actively engaged local and global citizens.

Our vision is rooted in the conviction that adolescents—in the context of a stimulating, rigorous, and supportive environment—can learn, work, and contribute in significant ways. With an emphasis on student agency and partnership with adults, we strive to maintain a community constituted of creative, critically-thinking, and socially-conscious individuals who will enter adulthood prepared to create lives of purpose, value, and joy.

We are a thriving school community offering children ages 15 months to 12 years an authentic, urban Montessori education.

Centered around the development of the whole child, the Montessori method instills personal responsibility, critical thinking, resilience, emotional intelligence, and respect for others, giving children a foundation for learning that will stay with them throughout their lifetime.

At The Montessori Lab School, we seek to cultivate a broad community of culturally and economically diverse families. Because we are believers in the strength of community, we offer continuous parent education and outreach programs so that more children and families can experience the Montessori method.

The Lab School operates under the world-renowned Montessori Training Center of St. Louis, an internationally recognized affiliate of the Association Montessori Internatonale (AMI). AMI was founded by Maria Montessori to continue the legacy of her vision while also continually innovating to increase the impact of authentic Montessori education.

Our mission is to enrich lives and strengthen communities by sharing the transformative potential of Dr. Maria Montessori’s method.
