ST. LOUIS (Dec. 15, 2020) –Ten years ago this January, Urban Chestnut Brewing Company opened its doors in the Grand Center district of St. Louis, MO. Today, the regional brewery operates three locations in St. Louis and one location across the Atlantic in Wolnzach, Germany, distributing their high-quality Lagers and Ales across six Midwestern states and two European countries.

Urban Chestnut began in January 2011 as a small craft brewery founded by two beer industry veterans, Florian Kuplent – a German-born and studied Brewmaster, and David Wolfe – a fellow brewery sales and marketing expert, who shared a common ambition to be a consistent and meaningful contributor to the vibrant and growing community of St. Louis. It has since grown to be one of the top breweries in the Midwest known for producing popular craft beer staples, like Zwickel Bavarian Lager, and Schnickelfritz German Wheat, and for its unwavering support of local non-profit organizations.

“January 2021 will mark our tenth anniversary, which is a big achievement for us, so to begin the celebration, we’ve developed a commemorative badge,” says Co-Founder David Wolfe. “Staying true to our European heritage and thirst for innovation, we wanted to emulate a traditional Fußball/soccer club crest with a design that represents the foundational character of Urban Chestnut Brewing Company.”

The badge is made up of five elements representing a different part of UCBC’s history and values: the St. Louis City flag and the Bavarian flag symbolizing its history and brewery locations, Red-orange and blue stripes symbolizing its brewery philosophy of equal parts (classic, European bier and modern, American craft beer, the ‘Chestnut Leaf in Goblet’ symbolizing its authentic heritage and proven quality, and the Founding Banner symbolizing its opening date of Jan. 26, 2011.

Throughout 2021, UCBC’s friends and fans will be able to find Urban Chestnut’s 10th anniversary badge on merchandise and packaging as the brewery and its family celebrate this important milestone. (The brewery is currently offering a pre-order sale of limited-edition anniversary merchandise up until Dec. 23, 2020 via their online store).

This is just the beginning, though. The brewery plans to have quarterly (and sometimes more frequent) product releases with a special series of commemorative beers featuring a few of its customer-favorite recipes from over the last 10 years and packaged in its iconic, Euro-sized bottles. The releases will be available in stores throughout the St. Louis metro area beginning early Spring of 2021. Learn more about UCBC’s commemorative badge by visiting UCBC’s website: urbanchestnut.com.
