KARLOVSKY & COMPANY DANCE presents
INTERWOVEN II – Moving Landscapes Inspired by Nature

INTERWOVEN II is a redesigned stage production from the 2021 digital premiere incorporating new and adapted choreography and sound taking place March 25-26 at the Grandel Theatre.  This evening-length work brings to life choreographic nature-inspired/environmental landscapes through multifaceted collaboration and integration of contemporary dance-theater, live music, spoken word, and visual art.

Inspired by the language of trees and the eco-system of the forest, Karlovsky creates this revised work of contemporary dance-theatre providing an abstract reflection on our humanity, community, and our communication and connection with nature and our environment.

INTERWOVEN II is Karlovsky & Company Dance’s main-stage spring concert featuring original choreography by the company’s founder and artistic director, Dawn Karlovsky, live and recorded sound scores by St. Louis musicians Kalo Hoyle and Tory Starbuck, and stage design by visual artist, Bill Russell.  Musicians Hoyle and Starbuck together create a complex fusion of percussive and electronic sounds inspired by ambient, experimental improvisation. The stage design, created by multimedia artist, Dr. Hatt Manikin Me (aka Dr. Bill Russell), visually supports the underlying enchanting, forest-inspired themes of INTERWOVEN II.

Concept and Choreography: Dawn Karlovsky
Live and recorded sound scores: Kalo Hoyle and Tory Starbuck
Stage Design:  Dr. Hatt Manikin Me (aka Dr. Bill Russell)

Suitable for all ages. Running time is approximately 1-hour.

Support for this event is made possible in part by the Missouri Arts Council – a state agency, the Regional Arts Commission, the Kranzberg Arts Foundation, The Grandel Theatre, and private donors.
